Article XII
Election of President, Vice President, and Cabinet Appointments
Section 1: Party Prospective Voting
In addition to voting for the President and Vice President, electors may cast a vote expressing support for the broader policy perspective or platform of a candidate's political party. This vote will help gauge public support for the candidate’s party vision but will not directly affect the Presidential or Vice Presidential election results.
Section 2: Election of the Vice President
The Vice President shall be selected by the Presidential candidate as their running mate before the election. The running mate’s name shall be listed with the Presidential candidate’s on the ballot.
Section 3: Cabinet Appointments
Before the election, the candidates shall submit a list of Cabinet appointments for transparency and approval of the voting masses.
Section 4: Age Limit for Officeholders
To be eligible for the offices of President, Vice President, or Cabinet positions, individuals must be between the ages of 40 and 65 at the time of election or appointment.
Section 5: Eligibility for Office
No individual constitutionally ineligible to hold the office of President shall be eligible to serve as Vice President or in any appointed Cabinet position.
Section 6: Presidential Transition and Succession in Case of Death
If the President-elect dies before taking office, the Vice President-elect shall become President. If no President is chosen or fails to qualify, the Vice President-elect shall act as President until a President qualifies. Congress may provide by law for the scenario where neither a President-elect nor Vice President-elect qualifies.
Section 7: Presidential and Vice Presidential Succession in Case of Death
Congress may, by law, provide for the death of any candidate from whom the House of Representatives or Senate may choose a President or Vice President, respectively.
Section 8: Presidential Term Limits
No person shall be elected President more than twice, nor shall any person serve as President for more than two years of a term for which another person was elected. This does not apply to anyone holding the office of President at the time of this article's proposal. They may continue to serve for the remainder of their term.
